The Democratic Women of DuPage County (DWDC) is recognized by the Democratic Party of Illinois and was founded to create a forum for Democratic Women to work together to promote the ideals of the Democratic Party and to foster the participation of women in all levels of the Democratic Party. Membership is open to all who share these goals.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Toastmasters has 270,000 members in 13,000 clubs throughout the world.
A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. A typical Toastmasters club has anywhere from 20 to 40 members who meet weekly, biweekly or monthly. A typical meeting lasts 60–90 minutes.
